Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease affecting millions worldwide, often leading to complications such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). These ulcers are primarily caused by excessive plantar pressure, poor circulation, and lack of sensation in the feet. Early detection and prevention are crucial to reduce amputation risks. This paper presents the design and development of an intelligent shoe sole integrated with sensors to monitor plantar pressure, temperature, and gait patterns in real time. The proposed system uses pressure sensors, temperature sensors, and a microcontroller-based wireless communication system to alert users when abnormal conditions are detected. Machine learning algorithms can further enhance prediction accuracy for ulcer formation. Experimental results indicate that intelligent insoles significantly reduce high-pressure exposure and improve patient awareness, thereby preventing foot complications. This study highlights the potential of wearable smart technologies in healthcare monitoring and diabetic foot management.
