Shaping the Future of Work: A Systematic Review of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Human Resource Management

The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in human resource management is of great significance; its functions include recruit, support, and develop staff etc. In Human Resource Management (HRM), predictive trends in workforce, routine activity and data of employees are automated as well as decision making processes. Included in the areas of HRM functions discussed in this systematic review are; recruitment, employee engagement, workforce forecasting, and performance analytics. The review presents the existing application of AI and examines the vast scope of tools and methods of ML (Machine Learning) algorithms, and chat-bots, to commercial and open-source predictive and sentiment analysis. The necessity of the human-centric approach to AI in the HRM can be seen through the recent tendencies in the area of algorithmic bias, the lack of transparency, data confidentiality, the immune system of the organization ethical reaction to AI. This is not to be viewed as a substitute of an HR professional but the indications are leaning towards the fact that AI is able to supplement HR to create better working environments. Some of the interesting research objectives proposed by the paper include the necessity to adopt AI in a responsible way, and the priorities of the future research, including the key concern to the equity, the wellbeing of the humans, and the proper formation of the policy.
