Digital Transformation in Investment Behaviour: A Bibliometric and Content Analysis of Gen Z in FinTech Platforms

There have been many developments associated with the field of FinTech that have greatly impacted investments and financial systems, affecting how individuals interact and behave with such innovations. In this study, the development and themes of FinTech literature will be analysed utilizing a mixed methodology that is bibliometric analysis alongside content analysis. For the study, there was a collection of data from Scopus, yielding a total of 540 documents.
Bibliometric analysis involved using VOS viewer to analyse various aspects including trends of publication, keyword frequency, citation structure, and network of co-authorship. From the analysis, there was an increase in research on FinTech, with publications involving topics such as digital finance, innovation and technology, and investment literature.
In addition to the quantitative analysis, content analysis on twenty-five selected articles was done to determine major themes. Six main research themes emerged, including FinTech and banking performance, sustainability and green finance, investment behavior, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, innovation and digital economy, and financial inclusion.
The findings from the study provide a basis for analyzing FinTech literature by incorporating both quantitative and qualitative information. The paper will contribute to existing literature by determining some of the emerging themes and possible gaps in FinTech research literature.
